• Test & Keep a FREE iPhone 3G

Do you like iPhone 3G? Do you know that version 2.0 of iPhone 3G is already released? Do you want to participate in testing of new iPhone? If so go >here<, test it and keep iPhone 3G for FREE.

Test new iPhone 3g and get it for Free!

There are simple reasons why the new iPhone 3G is better than the last. Apple has eliminated so many annoying little hang-ups that you might run into when using the old one. The GPS pinpoints to meters instead of blocks. The 3G connection slashes web loading times by minutes to seconds. The more rounded case feels great in the hand. And most importantly the new software polishes the OS and opens the phone up to nearly unlimited capabilities through the countless programs that are already being written by the brilliant legions of faithful developers. It’s kind of cool.

    Free IPhone 3G is Cool

Guys, I like iPhone and I am happy that I got it… I think that iPhone is the best phone on the planet. We see this by other manufactures copying their touch screen capabilities but nothing compares. They only thing that can beat the iphone is the iphone 3G. And the only thing that can beat the iphone 3G will be the next iPhone 4G!

Now I have my own iPhone 3G!

One of my friend is Blackberry Storm fan. But there are some things that the Blackberry can’t do that the iPhone can, however there are some features the Blackberry has that the iPhone 3G doesn’t have yet or can’t get at all (eg. AD2P Bluetooth, Copy/Paste, switch between EV-DO and EDGE aka. CDMA and GSM).

Anyway, here is my list of why the Blackberry Storm is not as good as iPhone 3G:

    1. Memory management (see above) – only 128 megs for O/S, apps, e-mails, themes. This runs out quickly!
    2. Blackberry App World – slow, takes up too much memory; the apps suck and are just simple things like “ring with vibe”, etc. Not too many good apps, either. The ones that are good are also available for iphone.
    3. The Storm interface *does* lag when the device is transmitting/receiving data.
    4. The Blackberry browser sucks; javascript on it kills it – Opera Mini is good but they fail to put out a Storm-specific version… it doesn’t load all of the images and zoom-in is limited. There is a 3rd-party “Bolt” browser, but they don’t really seem to care about the Storm. Instead, it is more optimized for trackball (yuck!)
    5. The Blackberry Storm O/S (4.7) is just old-clunky Blackberry O/S with some slapped-on touchscreen changes. Not innovative or optimized for touch-screens at all.
    6. I can’t view my HTML e-mails without them being all chopped-up strange.

So my choise is iPhone 3G! Test & Keep a FREE iPhone 3G

  • Everything You Need to Know About the New iPhone 3GS

I didn’t get to go to the WWDC this year again but I followed several liveblogging coverages as well as a live video streaming. Here is a summary of everything that was said about the new iPhone. Thanks Engadget for all the pictures. Please note that this text is really rough and I will take time to write a better sumary of what went on at the WWDC but I wanted to give you the heads up asap. The iPhone keynotes started with an overview of the App Store. Developers have downloaded the SDK over 1 million times, and there are now over 50,000 apps in the App Store. Then Scott Forstall went on what we already about iPhone 3.0 such as copy/paste, MMS, etc…

    New iPhone

Copy/paste will work over all apps, which is kind of a given, but it’s good to have confirmation. MMS will be supported by 29 carriers at launch. AT&T will be ready at the end of the summer. Boooo!

    New iPhone

Scott Forstall also confirmed the rumor we heard a few weeks ago that you will now be able to rent and purchase movies directly from your iPhone. How cool is that?

    New iPhone

Now about tethering… It will work for Mac and PCs via USB or BlueTooth. You won’t have to run any software once it’s turned on. 22 partners in 44 countries will support tethering but unfortunately, no word about AT&T…

    New iPhone

A really cool new feature is AutoFill: your iPhone will now remember usernames and passwords to login to websites. It will also use your contact info to fill out web forms. I’ve been hoping for that since day 1.

Apple also created Find My iPhone. If you lose or misplace your iPhone, you can login to MobileMe on any browser and it will show you where the phone is. Amazing! You can send a message to your phone. Whether or not the phone is in silent mode, an alert will play until you find your phone. If it is lost or stolen, you can send a remote wipe command which will delete all of your data.

    new iPhone

Now about push notification, there are 3 types of notifications you can push, text alerts, numerical badges, and sounds alerts.

    New iPhone

One big thing I was hoping for but didn’t expect was the first real GPS app: TomTom.

3.0 will be free for iPhone users and $9.95 for iPod Touch users. It will be available June 17th

    iPhone 3GS

The new iPhone is officially called iPhone 3GS!!!

    iPhone 3GS

The “S” in iPhone 3GS stands for speed. Everything on the new iPhone is faster! It comes with a brand new 3 megapixels autofocus camera, you just tap on what you want to focus on.

    iPhone 3GS

But the best thing about this camera is that it also captures videos… So how does that work? You go into the camera application, select if you want to do video, 30fps, VGA, with audio… auto focus, auto white balance. When you go into the app, you can see the video and scrub along with your finger… you can also edit it with a tap of your finger. And you can share it with anyone, you can tap “share” and send it in an email if your carrier supports it, you can send the video as an MMS

    iPhone 3GS

There’s another great feature called Voice Control. You can hold down the home button, and a brand new UI pops up: the voice control interface. You can make calls with your voice, you can control your iTunes by voice.

    Next iPhone

There’s also a built-in digital compass. The compass app is a new one that comes on the iPhone. You can tap to go right into Maps, and if you tap a second time, it will orient the map to where you’re facing.

All these great new features and Apple managed to improve battery life. Up to 5 hours 3G talk time, 9 hours of WiFI internet.

    iPhone 3GS

The iPhone 3GS 16GB will be $199 and the 32GB version will be $299. It will be available in black and white. The iPhone 3G is now going to be priced at $99.

  • AT&T Wants to Charge You $699 For the New iPhone 3GS

    free iPhone

AT&T is once again showing proof of how much it sucks. The new iPhone just came out with two basic features that we’ve been waiting for a long time: MMS and tethering. Unfortunately, AT&T sucks so much they were not able to get their shit together on time and we’ll have to wait to be able to use these features. How long do we have to wait? Well, we don’t know… As Jason Kincaid from TechCrunch says:

At launch on June 17th, MMS is going to be supported by 29 carriers, and tethering will be supported by 22 of them. So when can we finally expect these stateside? MMS is apparently coming “later this summer”. And tethering? A much more nebulous (and ominous) “later”.

This is ridiculous, plain and simple. AT&T has almost certainly known about Apple’s plans for many months if not years, and was probably involved in determining when these features would be launching in the first place.

Want to hear even more ridiculous? I tried to pre-order the new iPhone 3GS on Apple’s website and I can’t get it for under $599… Yes, the price tag says $299 but you have to qualify for it. Here is what the fine print says:

Requires new two-year AT&T wireless service contract, sold separately to qualified customers; credit check required; must be 18 or older. For non-qualified customers, including existing AT&T customers who want to upgrade from another phone or replace an iPhone 3G, the price with a new two-year agreement is $499 (8GB), $599 (16GB), or $699 (32GB).

This is far beyond scandalous. I switched to AT&T to get the first iPhone. I renewed a 2 year contract to get the iPhone 3G last year, and now, I have to pay full price – $699 – for the new iPhone 3GS. Are you serious? I hope this is a mistake and it will be fixed quickly.

  • iPhone 3G 2009 Vs. iPhone 3G

    iPhone 3G

This picture was posted on Mac Rumors, claiming that it might be the new iPhone 3G 2009.

I don’t know if it’s just me but it looks like the matte iPhone is slimmer than the shiny one.

So what do you think? Is this real or just another rumor?

  • Remotely Control Your Car From Your iPhone With iCar Remote

iCar Remote is a new application that allows you to control your car directly from your iPhone. You can for example start/turn off the engine, roll up/down the windows and move forward and backward. See a demo in the video below.

See video, it is really useful iPhone App.

  • New iPhone Pictures Leaked

    New iPhone

Some relatively “legit-looking” pictures of the new iPhone have been leaked on a Chinese blog (note that the site is down at the moment). The pictures show an iPhone using autofocusing with its camera, movie recording and the digital compass. You can never tell if it’s real or fake for sure but I’m 99% positive that it’s for real.

  • Apple Greediness Shows Again

Once again, Apple proves to be pretty greedy as it wants to charge you twice for applications you’ve already purchased. This pop up window was spotted on a few iPhone over the weekend and it suggests that Apple will charge you again if you decide to download over the air an app you already paid for in the past. As an alternative, you can download the app for free if you do so from your computer.

Is Apple greedy? Or is AT&T asking Apple to do that in order to reduce the load on the network? I know for sure Apple is greedy but charging for “re-downloads” doesn’t really make sense. With the WWDC coming up next week, I guess we’ll find an answer to these questions sooner rather than later.

  • iTunes 8.2 Is Out – Jailbreakers Do Not Update

iTunes 8.2 is available since yesterday. According to the update notes, “iTunes 8.2 now supports iPhone or iPod touch with the iPhone 3.0 Software Update. iTunes 8.2 also includes many accessibility improvements and bug fixes.”

As always when an update comes out, I highly suggest jailbreakers and unlockers do not update iTunes yet. According to the Dev Team:

This update is one of those that incidentally breaks QuickPwn and PwnageTool.  It doesn’t seem like an anti-jailbreak.  But nonetheless, it will break your ability to re-run QuickPwn or PwnageTool’s dfu-entry.

Because this update isn’t a deliberate anti-jailbreak measure, it’s easily fixed in our tools.  But we really don’t want to update our tools until 3.0 is out, so please don’t update to 8.2 if you think you’ll need to rejailbreak your device. :)

iPhone Download Blog reader VistaUser also warned me that iPhoneBrowser doesn’t work anymore after updating iTunes to 8.2.

  • How To Install An iNav Theme On Your iPhone

    iNav

If you’re iPhone is jailbroken and that you look at Cydia apps and mods from time to time, you most likely came across the iNav themes. iNav themes are a little more complex than your usual theme and simply activating the theme in WinterBoard won’t be enough. You will need to prep your iPhone and that’s exactly what I’m going to show you today.

Installing an iNav theme is not hard at all but it will take a few minutes of your time.

    1. You’re iPhone must be jailbroken. If it’s not, then look at our tutorials on how to do that.

    2. Launch Cydia and install “Categories”, “iBlank”, and the iNav theme of your choice. For this tutorial, I am installing the iFdark theme from the iSpazio source.

    3. Launch Categories and create 2 folders: Apps, and Games. Put all your games in the Games folder, and put all your apps into the Apps folder, except for Phone, SMS, Email, Safari, iPod, Camera, and Photo.

    4. Close Categories. You should now have only Games, Apps, Photos, Camera, SMS, Phone, Mail, Safari, and iPod on your springboard.

    5. Move the apps so you have only one app per page on your springboard.

    6. Launch Winterboard and activate the iNav theme, as well as the “No Undocked Icon Labels” option. Close Winterboard. Your springboard should look a little messed up.

    7. Launch iBlank (from your Apps category folder) and create 135 blank icons (hint: in iBlank, tap “15″ 9 times).

    8. Tap and hold any icon to make then wiggle. Now drag and drop the larger icons on the right side of the screen so they fit your theme. This part is kinda tricky because the position completely depends on your iNav theme. Usually, they are on the third row from the top, the third icon from the left. Rearrange the icons on the 9 pages.
